2001 honda civic si 1.7 vetec engine 82000kil manual trans.Cold start in morning engine runs ok. Shut off & start a couple hours later & engine cuts out when trying to accelerate in first gear. Has rough idle when this happens -clears up in 60 seconds

Did your Engine Light come on after the first stall? If so, visit your local auto parts store and burrow/buy an On-Board Diagnostic 2 Scanner. Just hook up the cable underneath your dashboard and start your ignition. This will help you identify what your problem might be.

Your distributor may be starting to fail preventing your spark plugs from detonating properly in sequence. But if you have error codes, they can be more helpful than good guesses.
