<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Certain Models Are Very Good
Consumersearch.com reports that Cuisinarts have a well-deserved reputation for making good dough, and Consumer Reports backs this up in a review of four Cuisinart models. Based solely on the criterion of kneading ability, three of the four Cuisinarts--the DLC-2011BCN, DFP-14BCN and Pro Custom II DLC-8S--got ratings of "Very Good," which is the second-best rating Consumer Reports awards.
On the Other: One Is Merely Average
In the same Consumer Reports review, the Cuisinart DLC-5 got a low overall score, with a rank of "Good" on its kneading ability. Most models from other brands did better.
Bottom Line
While a number of Cuisinart models seem to excel at kneading dough, the Cuisinart name alone doesn't ensure that you're getting the very best there is in this category. Consumer Reports' subscription-based website is updated often and remains a good resource for determining which models are best with dough.
