The Thermax water-based air purifier and freshener is a system that uses water to create a fragrant scent inside of a house. The manufacturer states that the scent will scatter all the way up to 800 feet. According to reviewers at Amazon.com, the product does help get the air clean and, for the most part, functions as advertised.
On the Other: Works, But at What Cost?
While the product does work to freshen the air, the maintenance of the Thermax water-based air purifier does not seem worth it. First, users complained of a loud motor and a need to constantly put water in the unit, almost every 24 hours. Also, the entire device's bowl and filter need to be cleaned at least once a month. Also, one user's motor died after only one year of use.
Bottom Line
While the concept seems clean and workable and the Thermax water-based air purifier does clean the air as advertised, the amount of additional attention this device needs makes it very unappealing for purchase. Choosing an air filter that's quiet, low-maintenance and efficient is a better bet than this Thermax version.
