The Tornado Gas Saver uses a turbine-shaped device to concentrate airflow into a car engine's combustion chamber to atomize droplets of fuel. The supposed result is more efficient fuel combustion, a factor that improves gas mileage. The manufacturer claims that the Tornado can increase a vehicle's fuel efficiency by up to 28.77%.
On the Other: Reviews Claim Otherwise
A number of reviews from Tornado users indicate little, if any, increase in fuel efficiency. In one test, a user installed the Tornado in a 2001 Subaru Impreza. By comparing data from previous trips along the same route, the reviewer found that his gas mileage actually decreased when using the Tornado.
Bottom Line
Although the Tornado device makes an attractive claim of increased fuel efficiency and lower gas costs, reviewers consistently find that the device does not work.
