If you are tiling a large space, using one type of tile throughout can feel monotonous. Instead, consider using different tiles to create another dimension of design. Make sure the tiles are complementary to each other since they share the same visual space, but feel free to get creative.

It depends on the space and what kind of effect you are trying to achieve. If you are tiling a small area and want create the illusion of a larger space, you should keep all tile the same. If the space you are tiling is larger or has an architectural element you want to highlight, then you should use different tile designs and configurations.
