Clobex® is a potent steroid that treats mild to severe psoriasis. It comes in a variety of forms such as a lotion, spray and shampoo. This topical treatment is for patients 18 years of age and older.
How to Use
Clean and dry the affected area before applying Clobex®. Apply a thin film of the medication to the area and rub it in. Apply twice a day. Wash hands thoroughly after applying the medication. Do not allow the medication to get in or on any part of your face.
Symptoms
Clobex® helps to relieve symptoms of psoriasis such as itching, scaling, inflammation and plaque thickening.
Types
Clobex® lotion is used mainly for dermatitis. The shampoo helps with an itchy or flaky scalp due to psoriasis. And the spray is powerful in clearing up plaque psoriasis.
Side Effects
Burning, itching, dryness and redness are common side effects of Clobex®. These side effects are most frequently experienced during the beginning of treatment because the body is not used to the medication. Contact a doctor if the side effects do not subside.
Overdose
If too much medication is used, it could cause the side effects to worsen significantly. Contact your local poison control center or emergency room if this occurs.
