Hybrid cars use both gasoline and electricity to run. Though they are billed as a better alternative to the environment, there are some safety issues to be aware of.
Parts
Hybrid cars have more sensitive parts than a regular car. These parts can break easily and are costly to fix. A lot of these parts are electrical, and finding a qualified mechanic can be difficult.
Battery
According to AA1Car.com, the voltage needed to run a hybrid battery is similar to that of the electric chair. People need to be careful and avoid electrocution when working with the battery in a hybrid.
Electricity
Because the hybrid utilizes electricity, rescuing people from an accident can be tricky for police. If metal objects, such as the Jaws of Life, clamp the wrong place, the electrical charge can be very dangerous.
Technology
Because the technology is new, no one is certain of the durability, stability and reliability of hybrid cars as they age.
Sound
Most hybrids cars run nearly silent. They also don't start with a key; instead, they employ a push button. It is important to ensure the car is turned off before working on it.
