  • I dont live in Maine but in Massachusetts. Maine is North of me, so they have colder temps and more snow than we do, normally. I would be guessing at 3 months or so. Possibly June, July and August, and sometimes a few days in early September, thats about it.
  • That answer is pretty much accurate. I live in Maine and the last week and a half of May is usually summer weather and continues into about the 3rd week of september. Of course it does vary. Mass is maybe a week or two ahead in growth of plant etc.
  • The state of Maine covers 400 miles from top to bottom and while the very bottom may have weather that is similar to that of Northern Massachusetts; the same can not be said as you travel further north. To give you a rough idea, from North to South weather will vary by approximately 1 week for each hundred miles. That means that Northern Maine can have as much as 2 additional months of winter as Southern Maine. If you want to see how this carries over to other areas, Boston is about 200 miles north of NYC and another 200 or so will get you to Washington DC. Try watching the weather channel and follow the fall foliage or spring flowers up and down the coast. You will see that the model holds up pretty well.
  • I agree: the warm weather starts here in mid-May and usually ends mid-September. After the first frost (@ the end of September), we have "Indian Summer", where the days are in the 70s for a week. Although...this summer (2008), we've had quite a few cold rainy days. You just never know. Like they say up here: wait a minute, the weather will change.
  • Ten months of winter and two of damn-poor sleddin
