Tablet PCs are great little personal computers. Microsoft introduced a small computer in 2001 that used a stylus and was shaped like a tablet; Microsoft named its product a Tablet PC. Many different manufacturers copied Microsoft's product after it was released.
Size
Tablet PCs are usually small enough to fit into a coat pocket. They are very lightweight as well.
Touch Screen
Most tablet PCs have touch screens that allow you to operate them with your fingers, just like iPhones. This makes navigating through the small screen of a tablet PC much easier than typing on its keyboard.
Note Taking
A tablet PC is equipped with a stylus that acts as a digital pen. It allows you to take notes on the tablet PC's screen without typing on the keyboard.
Battery Life
Due to their small size and low power usage, tablet PCs can last a very long time on battery power. The batteries are usually high-power lithium-ion batteries that are rated above 5,000 milliampere-hour (mAh).
WiFi Internet
Tablet PCs are enabled with wireless technology that allows them to connect instantly to any wireless Internet router, provided that the router does not have an encryption. Also, many newer tablet PCs are enabled with Bluetooth, which is a much faster connection than regular wireless technology.
Security and Safety Features
Many tablet PCs come with a "lock" feature, such as in cellphones, to protect from unauthorized use. Also, some tablet PCs have fingerprint readers to further protect the computer.
