Propoxyphene is a narcotic pain reliever and has been associated with deaths when taken in larger-than-prescribed doses or in combination with other depressants, such as alcohol, prescription tranquilizers or over-the-counter antihistamines.

Side Effects
Side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, upset stomach, vomiting, stomach ache, rash and trouble urinating. These symptoms typically do not require emergency medical help unless they are severe.
