Just how efficient halogen lights actually are depends on the quality of the gas they use. But generally speaking, halogen bulbs are 10 percent to 20 percent more efficient than regular incandescent bulbs.
On the Other: Compared to Other Efficient Forms of Lighting
Compared to fluorescent bulbs, which are 300 percent to 500 percent more efficient than regular incandescent lights, halogen lights are not very efficient at all.
Bottom Line
If you like the aesthetics of halogen lighting, you can rest assured that they are more efficient than regular incandescent lighting. But if your priority is efficiency, then halogen lights are not the best choice.
