OK this really bothers me, what do you think? When you see a dog alone and ignored in someone's backyard, do you think he's miserable and lonely?

Not necessarily in the back yard, but I HATE it when I see dogs tied up looking miserable outside of resturaunts and stores, etc. Why take your dog with you if you know you are going to be out places he can't go? At least give the dog something to drink, for F**k's sake! Poor puppies!

I leave my two dogs outside chained up because they love it! But this is only with fresh water, when the weather is good and when i know that I won't be gone more than a couple of hours. And they keep each other company. I'm a bit wary of one of my neighbors, but the people on the other side of the duplex help me watch out for him. I also leave my dogs in the car when I go on errands (not for a long shop or anything), because once again, they love going for car rides! I hope people know that my dogs are very loved, but I do get very sad when I see dogs who I do think are ignored.

It bothers me if it appears to be a regular occurrence. However, if the dog is fed, watered, and appears to be healthy, it's none of my business really. I just have to let it go. Not everyone treats their animals as I would like for them to. It's just a fact of life. And yes, I think the dog might be lonely. :(
