Female cats will mark their territory in this way, while male cats will spray. She's probably purring a lot when she does this too. When she rubs your leg or your face, she's doing it partly out of affection, and partly out of 'owning' you.

When my husband and I first got married 8 yrs ago and we decided to get a cat we worried about the cat being lonely or solution... instead of coming home with one kitten we came home with two. and they weren't upset at all because their sibling was there.

    Probably just longing for attention.

That's how I know it's not attention, she gets that all the time, now she just lies on the floor moaning and won't come onto my lap unless it's for a scratch at her ear!

It sounds like she might have an ear ache or maybe ear mites. Is there lots of black looking stuff in her ear? She really needs to be checked by her vet.

make sure shes moaning and not purring. it sounds different in different cats.

or, she may have a small itch, or even cut on her head.
