One of the most popular advertisements on TV and the Internet are for "natural male enhancers." Although you may feel tempted to try one of these, most doctors and government agencies warn against using these products.
Identification
As of 2007, the US Food and Drug Administration has not approved of any non-prescription, natural male enhancer, according to Dr. Steven Pray of U.S. Pharmacist. While legal to sell, they most likely do not work.
Dangers
The prime danger of over-the-counter pills comes from the fact that no natural enhancer can verify their claims with the FDA or Federal Trade Commission, and sometimes they can contain dangerous chemicals, reports the FTC.
Warning
In 2008, the FTC came after companies selling "VPXL". This drug does not work and it has a potentially harmful substance called sildenafil---found in Viagra---which causes low blood pressure in people with heart disease or high cholesterol, reports the FTC.
Features
Producers of natural male enhancers often make fraudulent or erroneous statements, reports Dr. Pray. Makers of this product will even go so far as to create fake medical agencies and spam their advertisements on the Internet.
Tips
Dr. Steven Pray highly suggests avoiding any natural male enhancer; current medical science has not found a natural cure for sexual dysfunction. You should see a licensed doctor for any possible prescription medication that may help.
