Visitors to Singapore looking for a different cultural experience may want to sign up for a cooking class at one of the city's culinary arts schools. Classes start at beginner's level, and range from Asian to French cuisine.

Types of Classes
All schools offer classes where a chef demonstrates how to prepare dishes. Some schools also offer hands-on classes where students prepare dishes under the tutelage of a chef.
Asian Cuisine
All the schools teach Asian cuisine, ranging from Malay to Chinese. One school, Cookery Magic, offers field trips to an herbal farm and old village. (
Other Cuisines
Shermay's Cooking School offers classes in French cooking and desserts in addition to the instructor's lessons based on her grandmother's cooking. Coriander Leaf also offers classes in Middle Eastern and fusion cooking, while Palate Sensations offers holistic classes that are not just cuisine-based.
Finer Things
Raffles Culinary Academy, located in the famous Raffles Hotel, offers classes in such areas as how to plan a party to foie gras appreciation.
