  • There are many ways to fax papers and documents online, with numerous programs you can install to do the work. Unfortunately, many of them are pricey and cumbersome. However, there is a way to fax your important work online for free, which can be accomplished with very little trouble.

    Faxing Online With FaxZero.com

The first thing you will always need to do before trying to fax anything online is to scan it to your computer. If it is already a computer file (like a word document or a .jpg image), then this won't be necessary, but if you need to get a hard copy of certain paperwork faxed over the Internet, you will need to scan it first to make it a computer file. After you have a digital copy of your document, go to FaxZero.com. There are many sites that have a free faxing service (PamFax, ScanR, and PopFax are all examples), but FaxZero is one of the easiest. Once at FaxZero.com, you will see two boxes, and will be prompted to type in some of your personal information and information on who you wish to send the fax to. On the left box (where it says Sender), type in your name, company, e-mail, and fax number (if you don't have a fax number, your phone number will work fine). In the right-hand box, fill out the information on the person who will be receiving the document. It is important that you have their fax number. You can not just put in their telephone number, as this won't work. Under those two boxes, you will see a section for you to add the file that you wish to send. When choosing a file, make sure that it is either in .doc, .docx or .pdf format. If it's not in those formats, you will need to convert the file to either a .doc, .docx or .pdf file. To do this, it is usually easiest to open the file you want, click on "save as" in the menu bar and then save it as a word document or a .pdf file. In the center box, click on the "choose file" button and find the proper file to fax. There will be a confirmation code directly below it that you will need to type, but that is just to verify that you are a real person. All that remains is that you pick the plan you want. There are two options--either the free service or the Premium Fax service. The free service allows up to two faxes per day, and will have a small banner ad on the top of the fax when the receiver gets it. It can also only be three pages long. If you don't want the ad, or need to fax something that is longer than that (up to 15 pages), you can opt for the premium service, which will cost you $1.99 per fax. Click on the button of the fax you want, and you will have faxed your document online.
