Education

The NCPSE recommends checking with your particular state for specific licensure requirements. The majority of school social workers hold master's degrees in social work.

Job Outlook and Pay

Students face an overwhelming array of issues and pressure. This increases the need for school social workers; although funding is a major issue, according to the NCPSE. The average annual salary range was $29,852 to $41,969 in December 2009, according to PayScale.com.
