<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Skateboard Tape Costs Less
Skateboard tape is less expensive than gun-grip tape. Both tapes grip very well. They wouldn't sell any if it didn't work. If cost is your only concern, skateboard tape is what you want. The adhesive grips surfaces very well, and you can purchase a number of different grits depending on how rough you want the surface. This allows you to customize it to your taste.
On the Other: Gun-Grip Tape Is More Convenient
The adhesives of gun-grip tape and skateboard tape work equally well. The tape stays where you put it. But gun-grip tape can be purchased to fit your particular gun. There's no cutting, measuring or fitting. You peel off the backing, put it on your gun, and you're done.
Bottom Line
If you're looking for a quick and easy job, gun-grip tape is an excellent choice. Just purchase the tape for the gun that you have. However, if cost is an issue or you want to customize your gun in a particular way, try skateboard tape.
