  • Many people carry all of their weight on their back, lift with their back muscles, slouch and generally damage the muscles in the back. Because of this, it is not uncommon for people to have severe back pains. The muscles are overworked, overstretched and not cared for, resulting in painful damage.

    Staying Active

At one point, it was suggested that resting and allowing the back to not work was the way to get rid of the pain. Doctors would suggest lying in bed and recovering. Studies recent to 2009 have shown that this isn't the case. Instead, if you want to ease back pain, you need to stay active and continue with your typical day to day activities.

    Exercise

The first thing that you can do is exercise a little each morning. The types of exercises you'll want to do are jogging and stretching exercises rather than heavy lifting because, until you learn to lift the correct way, you'll further hurt the muscles in your back. However, stretching them a little bit would help ease the pain some.

    Yoga

Yoga is similar to stretching, but the use of controlled breathing helps to ease the back pains. By controlling your breathing, you get control of any stress that might be causing you to tense up.

    Managing Stress

In recent years, a big way of easing back pain has been to manage stress. When you are stressed, the body is naturally more tense. When the muscles are tense, they are not able to move as much as when they are relaxed, and they are more likely to rip and tear. Therefore, managing your stress and keeping the muscles relaxed will better ease the back pain you might be experiencing.
