When treating ringworm (Tinea Corporis) with an over-the-counter anti-fungal medication, it takes at least two weeks of twice daily applications to clear up. If no improvement has been made within one month of starting the anti-fungal cream, a doctor will need to prescribe a stronger treatment. Oral anti-fungal medications may be prescribed, and they may take up to two weeks to get rid of ringworm as well. You must finish the course of treatment even after the ringworm stops itching or appears to be gone because it may still be present.
