Standard sheets can be used for daybed bedding. Adding specialty pillows and bolsters changes daybeds from a bed into a multi-use piece of furniture.
Bedding for Sleeping
Daybeds require a top sheet, a flat sheet, and pillowcases. Any twin- or full-size bedding commonly found in stores works well. Check the mattress size prior to purchasing bedding.
Day Use
Daybeds that are used as seating should have a mattress cover, decorative pillow shams, and a dust skirt. Coordinate all of these items for a designer look.
Accessories
Bolster pillows complete the look of a sofa. Tube-shaped bolsters for the arms and wedge shape pillows for the back create an illusion of a sofa or couch.
Trundles
A trundle is a bed that slides underneath a daybed. Some are made to look like drawers. Others hide under the dust skirt. Use a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and a blanket on these beds.
Tips
Cover pillows with pillow shams to make decorative daytime pillows. Store blankets in a small trunk that can double as an end table.
