Negotiating with car salesmen may seem like a hassle. However, buying a car at fleet pricing can make the process easier and less stressful. In fact, going this route makes sense for consumers on a budget.
Fleet Management
Most auto dealerships have a fleet management department. Their salesmen specialize in selling cars in volume to rental car companies and businesses requiring multiple vehicles.
High Volume, Low Cost
Because the cars are sold in bulk through the fleet management department, the price is lower. This is known as fleet pricing. The price is set and non-negotiable.
Lower Commissions
Fleet managers who sell these vehicles get a lower commission, which is covered by the factory, not by the buyer. This also keeps fleet prices lower.
Consumers and Fleet Pricing
Although fleet prices are normally available only for high-volume buyers, consumers can ask to work with the fleet department and can sometimes find fleet vehicles for sale at these lower prices.
Other Benefits to Buying Fleet
Because the price is non-negotiable, you do not have to dicker with the salesman. Fleet managers handle all aspects of the deal so you do not have to work with multiple people to finalize the deal.
