I have a cat and whenever she is upset about something she lets me know by peeing or pooping on something of mine. Shoe wise my swede boots where her latest victim and that was over a year ago. But that was the only time I can think of her pooping on my shoes. Honestly she has a personality like mine not that I'd ever vandalize someone else s property; the smallest thing can set both me and her off and we can get upset easily. All in all think of possible changes that where going on during that time that may have upset your cat. Or if your cat is older he or she may have been confused or couldn't make it to the box.
no
Kitty is unhappy about something, probably he wants attention.
They need a super clean bathroom..I am really saying a litterbox. They get ticked off and rebel if you aren't cleaning it everyday. Happened to our 2 year old neutered male cat once and only once...we totally learned...it was on the bathmat-waaaaay outside his litterbox.
If that's not the case-they KNOW things. They know when you are going to leave on a trip. Or if you have left them home alone A LOT lately, they get mad too.
Last fall my husband and I were packing one night for a trip. Our cat is by no means "perfect", but he's pretty close and super well behaved. We were doing all the regular packing things and cleaning and put our packed bags by the door. We went to bed and I woke up to weird sound. I went in the hallway and turned on the light and Hugo took an economy sized bag of catnip-that was waaaaaay up high-and dragged it into the hallway and chewed off the plastic, ripped it to shreads and managed to get it all over our luggage. I was shocked. And I think he did that because he was pissed off that we were leaving.
