Can I use a unlocked Nextel cell phone with no SIM card and buy a SIM card from Cingular and use their services?

    No. Nextel uses ID cards in their phones, but Nextel uses on a different kind of network (Integrated/Enhanced Digital; only Nextel's network uses iDEN) than Cingular (who uses Standard Global TDMA, or "GSM"). Their ID cards aren't SIM cards, either (I don't think) -- Some phones for non-GSM services use ID cards, although these are mostly in East Asia.
