Was Haiti better off economically and politcally under French rule? would French rule work there today?
Comparing the present day situation of Haiti to the past, under French rule, Was the nation better off economically, security wise, economically, etc?

It was better off financially . The French could not allow it to become as poverty stricken as they are today. Things were better when they were under Colonial Rule but maybe the people do not think so. It truly is terrible there. Even the Dominican Republic which is poor looks wealthy if you just walk across the border into Haiti.
