  • One Hundred And One EVERYONE PLEASE CAREFULLY RE-READ ORIGINAL QUESTION .... OK. Now look at my answer.... OK. Now read these 'comments': YARNLADY is happy everyday Dec, 04 2009 at 02:15 PM Using "and" is cheating that number is spelled One Hundred One. timthearchitect Dec, 04 2009 at 02:24 PM your right, keep counting. Sorry, but NO. YOU are both WRONG. PLEASE NOTICE: ANYWHERE IN THE QUESTION, does the Question say, "In spelling out numbers, no non-number words are allowed"? NO. REPEAT - NO. What I did was CAREFULLY READ the question and noticed THE 'LOOP HOLE' IN THE QUESTION - NOT PROHIBITING the use of non-number words. However, WITHOUT THAT PROHIBITION, the only DIRECTIVE language in the question is, "how far would you have to go until you would find the letter 'A'?" I take that to mean, the questioner wanted the LOWEST number in which the letter 'A' COULD - REPEAT - COULD - BE USED TO SPELL OUT THE NUMBER! Hence, my answer - One Hundred And One. That's NOT cheating. It IS taking advantage of a LOOP HOLE in a Question not SUFFICIENTLY RESTRICTIVE in it's wording to get the answer the questioner WANTED.
