Most of California has become conservative today. I think it has to do mostly with the immigrants from Mexico, India & East Asian countries. However, it is surprisingly liberal when compared to most other states in the US.

Only certain parts such as San Diego and communities up to LA.La is half and half.Anywhere north of that is free thinking.

I would hope so, since most of the state actually is more conservative, just the population bases in LA and SF have all the fruits and nuts in a concentrated area and they dominate the overall vote even though more counties in the state wind up voting more conservative. It's a good arguement for either dividing the state or allowing CA to split its electoral votes on elections.
