Can texting for some young people become such an obsession that they need psychiatric help?

i dont know but im 18 now and from age 17 to about a couple of months ago i texted all day everyday everything i did involved texting one month i sent 4,390 text and received just as many i would even talk in text omg wtf idk lol and i would take my battery charger with me evry where if my fone dies it would seem like the end of the world i would plug it in where ever stores restaurants EVERYPLACE i would even text my parents who would be rite upstairs and wen me and all my friend would be together we wouldnt even talk we would just sit and text each other i think texting is an addiction and habit

Anything that is done way out of balance is an obsession and may require help to quit.
