    It pretty much has to do with preventive maintenance and TLC over the years. Winter driving will take a toll. I've owned mine since new (1985) and have kept up the maintenance and it runs and looks great. A car that has been well maintained should be reliable.

    what years are we talking about and any chevrolet w/ the 305 i would NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE !!!!! some people like them but the suck on power and usually develop internal issues around 100000 miles
