  • "Clambake" because he didn't want to see how much weight he had gained.
  • Love me tender! because he dies at the end!? :-/
  • Viva Las Vegas. He didn't want to see Ann Margret because Elvis was with Priscilla.
  • Not what you are looking for I think, but I found this: "In the fall of 1955, he appeared in a Rock N Roll documentary "The Pied Piper of Cleveland" filmed in various locations in the Cleveland area, mainly Brooklyn High School. The film headlines many top acts of the day including Bill Haley and The Comets. Pat Boone, The Four Lads and others. This film has yet to be released. It is reportedly the property of Polygram International and in the Universal vault." Could not have seen this one, but there was no premiere to avoid. Question: When you sy Elvis Presley movie, was it about him, or was he in it?
  • I got it "Jail House Rock" Because his co-star dies 3 days after shooting, he refused to ever see it.
  • Pumpkin Etoile correctly noted that the movie was "JAILHOUSE ROCK." The movie was released to the theaters on November 8, 1957, but the woman who played his GF in the movie, actress Judy Tyler, was tragically killed in Wyoming road accident on July 4, 1957, while she and her hubby were on their honeymoon. . Because she and Elvis were extremely close personal friends (not romantically), Elvis was reportedly "depressed beyond all consoling," according to those closest to him, and some were worried that he might attempt suicide. The release of the movie was delayed by the film studio at his request, but he made it clear to everyone that he wouldn't attend the Premiere, nor would he have anything to do with promoting the movie. He refused to watch it, and had no copies of it in his possession. He passed away, never having seen the completed picture, but HAD seen some of the rushes, during the filming process.
  • I take it from what I have read here is is "Jailhouse Rock". I never knew this story however. When My then girlfriend and I went to see, "Love Me Tender" Yes, when it first came out...my father went with us to see it. When we exited the theater and were walking to our car my dad said to us..."You know he is your cousin don't you?" As it turns out Elvis is my second cousin. I almost got to meet him once when we were visiting in Mississippi in Sept. 1950 but my father had made other plans and we couldn't go.
