My DVD-ROM Drive is acting up...For some reason, now it only reads and writes CDs and sometimes detects DVDs if they have something on them, it doesn't even recognized blank DVDs. This is true in both Ubuntu and Windows.

    Get a new drive. The one you have is dying.

    mine used to do that, but it was realy old and i have a new one now, u could try cleaning it just dont touch anything cuz it could just make it worse
