In the summer yes, in the winter no. If you go downtown you see a lot more suits but that is usually just the core.

I too am a T shirt wearer ... I simply over heard a guy in a suit complaining about the casual attire of many others in town ... I wanted an opinion on wether you believe some should place more emphasis on their dress code when visiting the city ... as did this person. Peace on my T :)

A lot of short sleeved t-shirts in New York City. Of course it being New York City, oftentimes they're wearing nothing else.

This time of the year? No, they would shrivel up like dead caterpillars. *laughs*

almost everybody wears short sleeves or sleeveless in florida. i'd say at least 85% of guys do, in my experience.

Generally everyone is pretty casual in the US. Most restaurants "allow" casual attire -- people even dress casually in churches. It's still amazing to me how kids dress in school -- seems kind of disrespectful, but it's just the way society is anymore. Most offices are "business casual" too.

I would suggest it is something to do with your climate and the Australian casual attitude...it wouldn't work in England. How's your water situation we got masses of it here at the moment.
-
Too cold here for that. +5

Yeah, I see a lot of guys wearing short sleeved shirts, or singlets. Women are the same. I'd say about the same percentage as over there in Melbourne. When it's cold though, everyone wears jackets.

In Eugene Oregon, it's perfectly legal for women to walk around topless. Some do. Got anything more casual?
-
Cape Town, where I live, is very casual. A few suits, the rest of the people in Ts & even barefoot...
-
No, not a more casual attitude but better weather.
