  • There is certainly no frame of reference within which to discuss it. And the discussion would have to be complete conjecture, as well.

  • People get funding for research discussing these things. What objection could we have on someone hoping to make a living out of speculative discussions?
  • You can discuss the coming into being of spacetime, but anything "before" that is impossible. It is not even strictly correct to say such a thing as "before" time or "when" time didn't exist. Reason, logic both are mental constructs adapted to things within spacetime and are completely innadequate to comprehend anything outside of its confines. +5
  • Spacetime only exists inside an expanding wavefront. Beyond that mathematicians talk about h-space, but I don't believe there is a function representing time.
  • Without what came before spacetime, there would be no spacetime. There would be no sense in not discussing what happened before spacetime if one wants to know the full picture.
