Knowing a lot about herbs and spices and how some of them cause minor physiological changes that can help our bodies endure the weather of the day, will make any food better. Seasoning is NOT the same as flavouring!

If it is hot and dry, add some desert peppers.
If it is hot and humid, add some jungle peppers.
If it is cold and dry, add some ginger.
If it is cold and humid, add some cinnamon and/or saffron.

Taragon, Basil, Garlic (I'm sure you have that already), Sundried Tomatoes and those little toasted bread squares -- gosh, my mind's gone again -- I think they're French; haloumi cheese.

I make a salad of lettuce, cucumber, shredded cheese (pre-packaged any flavor), raisins or craisins, pecans, seasoned croutons, sweet italian dressing and lots of dill weed...gives it great flavor. My husband loves this salad!!! I don't like tomatoes in my salads.
