They need the opportunity to fail and to learn from that failure.

So no helicopter parents and no constant safety nets and bail outs.

We can teach them that by giving them many opportunities outside of their comfort zone and getting the h*ll out of their way.

Wisdom is acquired through practical experience. The lessons that such experiences teach are often meaningless to one who does not yet have the experience to appreciate them. +4

That life is not a popularity contest, be respectful to those deserving of it, and be careful who they choose to have sex with. Its possible to teach anyone but its not possible for everyone to learn.

how to break through the box that your mind is, and to see beyond your own perspective

the beginning of wisdom is knowing you have none,
or something like that :P. once you realize that your views and oppinions are one of 6 billion, and billions of people before including people like socrates who lived 2000 years ago, you have all the tools you need to achieve understanding.

edit: why did socrates drink the poison cup? from my own perspective I can not understand, I can laugh at him or rebuke him. But when I let go of my perspective, and try to see his perspective, I might actually learn something.

why do muslim terrorists blow themselves up? I can look from my perspective and say "because they are idiots, listening to other idiots". But when I try to see from their perspective, I might actually learn something. Calling someone an idiot, perhaps shows your inability to see another's perspective far more than it shows the stupidity of that person

How to be kind to everyone, even those who do not deserve kindness or can return kindness. It can be learned, but not taught.
