I would say that thesaurus's are more useful than dictionaries. At least, if you have a decent grasp of the English language.

Rather than show my ignorance, when answering a question on AB, i keep an American Heritage Dictionary beside my computer. One day, i grabbed this dictionary and found an easy chair to sit in. i began reading some of the words and their defintions. a dictionary is a world of information. A dictionary is a very important reference tool, especially when conversing on Answerbag.
