My mum is currently in her early 60's. She raised me on Alice Cooper and 70/80's era Metal and she digs a lot of the current modern Rock/Metal stuff. She's a pretty hip granny.

Depends on what type and the artist/group. Even when younger I didn't like everything that was played and sung. Oh, I am the older generation.

At 72 I am the older generation sweetie. I don't know what you mean by "modern day music" though. Perhaps you could clarify that. My two favorite genres are jazz and classical and that has never changed. I do appreciate groups like Steely Dan or Genesis or Kansas and the Beatles music was sublime. I don't like atonal music, or vile language, or music that is harsh and loud. I like lyrical, flowing, smooth music. I don't know if that answers your question my friend! :)
