I would consider myself to be. I've always had a nack for it, but I really don't have any experience other than art class in school.
The third is originally by Van Gogh, but I used acrylic paint instead of oil

I actually am an artist and I'm still in school. I take art classes and have taken them since I was in elementary school. I never became interested in art until I was introduced to a new teacher in middle school. I love to work with any medium but lately my art has been on hold due to brain block. It's a big club, and anyone can be in the club without any credentials what so ever.
If the majority of bean brains who call themselves artist had to measure their skills in the same way that a musician can there would be considerably less, "artist".
Modern art is essentially dead, except of course the money that drives collecting the stuff that now fills the museum warehouses with pure junk. "art" is now a lowercase
word. To answer your question: who isn't today? And when everyone is an artist, then there is no art.
