hmm... there really isn't a set answer to this question. it could take 1 second - like, that exact instance you meet someone or something - or it could take years and years depending on the situation.

You can't fall in love with an animal. You may love your pets but you can't be IN LOVE with them unless you're a really strange person. As to falling in love with a person, sometimes it's just WHAM! Other times it sneaks up on you. As for and etcetera - the mind boggles.

I fall in lust quickly, but not in love. That takes much longer. I have to know a person at least six months to a year before that kind of trust level is built up. There's no set timeline -- it depends on each person and the circumstances. I don't fall in love that often.
