  • Yes indeed. I did today. We had boneless sirloin porkchops. I dredged them in flour, braised them in butter till browned and then simmered them in white wine for two hours. With beef I use red wine. Always use wine that you would drink with dinner. Anything else will ruin the dish! :)

  • Wine , beer, etc all good. Chili (red), spaghetti sauce (red), stew (beer), white sauce for chicken or fish (white)...all enhance flavors and the alcohol cooks off ....
  • No I have never used alcohol for cooking :D
  • I have only used beer for ham gravy,along with ginger ale and soy sauce,slow roasted for many hours,till the ham falls off the bone,,I am not much of a gourmet cooker so wine just hasn't been on the menu.
