Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, a loyal Democrat, blamed the Fort Hood massacre --perpetrated by a radical Muslim on guns. Since the perpetrator is a member of the US Army and the incident occurred on an army base isn't the comment a bit off-the-wall?

Of course its off the wall. He should have blamed it on Doctors, Men, The Military. Any of those make as much sense. Fancy having guns on a military base. Good grief, they will have soldiers there before you know it. Dangerous state of affairs that should never be allowed to happen.

I'm no gun nut, but that's loony tunes. We might ask if cop-killer weapons and ammunition really needs to be so widely available, though. The automatic he used is known for its ability to penetrate body armor, and he did not get it from the military. He bought it legally at a gun shop.
