Help answer this question below.
Overactive bladder, also known as "urge incontinence," is caused by an involuntary contraction of the bladder muscles. The involuntary contractions can have multiple causes, and doctors are not always able to pinpoint the exact reason for the disorder. Diabetes, brain or spinal cord tumors, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and other medical conditions can cause overactive bladder. An enlarged prostate or constipation can block the flow of urine from the bladder. High urine production due to kidney problems, drinking a lot of fluids, consumption of diuretics in the form of medicines, high caffeine levels, or diabetes can result in urge incontinence. Tumors or bladder stones can contribute to urge incontinence. In some cases, what appears to be a situation of overactive bladder might be an acute urinary tract infection. It is very important that you consult a physician to receive a proper diagnosis.Diseases and Disorders
