  • Podcasts are identified as episodic, downloadable and program-driven. Like television or radio programs, their content ranges from music to highly specialized professional information. For younger consumers, podcasts have largely replaced traditional AM and FM radio by offering more options and less commercialization. Since podcasts are only available for a short time, though, you will want to back them up on a compact disc.

    Getting the Podcast

Acquire podcasts by subscribing or by downloading them individually from the website. Podcasts are usually acquired on online-linked programs like iTunes and Zune. Wait until the podcast has finished downloading.

    Dragging the Podcast

Drag the podcast in a "Play" folder, as a playlist of one or more podcasts.

    Blank CD

Place a blank CD into your burner. Both surfaces of the disc should be clean of dirt and grime.

    Recording

Initiate recording. There is often a "burn to disc" tab somewhere in your music program, and it is as simple as tapping this button. Allow your computer to burn the CD completely. When it announces completion, eject the disc and try it out on a CD player. If it works, you have successfully burned your podcast to disc.
