i dont know a lot of people with my last name. Myung~ thats my last name
-
Yes, it has a really interesting story behind it. Ok Ok. When my ancestors came to America, there was a dispute among two brothers on the trip here. The brothers shared the last name of Sweet, like sugary sweet. Upon arriving to America, they decided that they should part ways and never speak again. They also didn't want to be associated with each other, so one brother changed his last name to Sweat, like you are sweating. I got really lucky to be the great-great-great-something granddaugther of the Sweat brother. So my last name is really Sweat, but it should be Sweet.
-
Yes, because it's still one of the French spellings and not so English. The only problem is people never know how to say it.
-
Not hardly. It's one of the most common names on earth.
-
Yes, not many of us left.
-
Mm, well, I have never met another Kasten other than my family. And a lot of my family has remarried. There's only really about 4 or 5 of us in my particular family with the name.
-
No mine is like the 50th most popular in the US, I work with a guy with the last name Etken, I think thats pretty rare, I dont think anyone else in the US has that last name
-
No,not at all.
-
It will be in a month or so, I'm changing it.
-
I'd say yes i've never met another person with it.......MERTZLUFFT. Only problem with it being unique my teacher or anyone for that matter can never say it right.
-
Not unique at all; in our local phone book, there are about 7 columns of people with that same name.
-
In America, yes. In Russia - NO.
-
It's quite unusual.
-
No, it's ....
-
my real last name is Watson. Not unique so I made my middle name, Townes, my last name
-
Not unique but not real common it's Page and how funny that my boyfriends last name is Pate not real common either
-
Very much so! Everyone thinks that it is a Native/Canadian last name however it is not, it's actually English/Irish depending on how back in the tree you stem and there are not many of us left (That I know of).
-
No. My last name is terribly common. But this only enhances my anonymity. Sometimes it pays to have an overly common name.
-
what? loser? :P lol nah, my real surname is very unique ;)
-
Definitely. No one ever knows how to spell or pronounce it.
-
my last name = my dad's name = unique...yes...
-
My surname is very simple and common, though less common where I live, as Mennonite surnames are most common (in their community and outside of it). But it would be common in Britain. There are still a few peope with the same surname at my school.
-
Extremely. Althoug it is get less so as my brothers keep reproducing.
-
Not at all, it's very common. However, if I were to change it to what I'd like it to be, it would be very much so! ^_^;
-
i dont know about unique but there is only my family i know about with it.
-
In Australia, it is not so common, but in Calabria it is a dime a dozen.
-
Its not really unique but more of a hindrance because its hard for some people to pronounce correctly. I still use my married name but my maiden name isnt any better.
-
My last name appears on the Arch de Triomphe in Paris...when my son was in Paris he was stunned to see his surname there..now, of course, that name belongs to my ex-husband, not me, but it's been my surname since 1964. So it may be unique in America but maybe not so unique in France! :)
-
Yes, very unique. My wife and I made up our last name when we got married and both had our names legally changed. If you were to google it, you would come up with us, a school in texas, a prison in the midwest, and a false name used in a trial.
-
Yes. Alvaro Unique
-
yes its italian and ya know how weird we can get with our names people get it wrong all the time so I play along with it and have some fun exp with telemarketers :)
-
Somewhat. There are a handful of people in the US that have the same or similar last names, maybe 20 or 30 others to my knowledge.
-
Hm.. I dont think I've met other people with the same last name, but there are a lot of very similar names in Danish (Bjerregård, Bjerregaard, Bjerre, just to mention a few)
-
No, not particularly. And I hate it.
-
It probably is, but I dont know. The sad part is that I have no idea where it came from , I don't know the story behind it, my dad says is Basque-Moor or something like that. Also other people say it's italian , but it is so strange I haven't been able to find any solid information about my last name =/
