What do you think about the MPA (the American Music Publishers Assosiation) cracking down hard on (guitar) tablature sites? There has been threats of lawsuits and jail for those involved in distributing "unlicensed" tabs.

It's redundant! Any musician worth a cent can tell every chord in any music, however intricate if THEY ARE a musician, not just a guitar strummer.

A lot of guitar players do not take music lessons any more and cannot read music, so to them, tabs are the same as notes, so cracking down on tab sites would not be much different than cracking down on a site that offers free sheet music downloads. I think that this would be such a minor offense, I hope that it won't carry any major fines.

I see no problem with it. It is infringment, and the copyright holder has the right to protect their property.
