  • It's from a sheep that has never been sheared. Thus it's "original" wool and not re-grown. Not a big deal in my book. lol
  • I think it is wool that has not been fooled around with or any fake fibers added in.
  • I went to buy a new sweater and found one i really liked. But it cost $89.95. I said to the saleslady, "It's nice, but that's too expensive." "But it's 100% virgin wool," she said. Virgin wool. Yeah. For $89.95, I care what the sheep do at night?
  • Wool is referred to as virgin wool when it's going to be spun and afterward, as to what kind of wool it is. It simply means that it has never been spun into yarn before, it's a first for this fiber to be spun, thus virgin, as opposed to wool that is reused or recycled back into a new yarn. Wool that has been spun before or yarn that is made from recycled fibers or fabrics is called shoddy.
