A employee of Comp USA gave me this info. and I was wondering if it is true. Epson inkjet printer head work differently from all other heads.

    Other printers use heat to print. This is true for Hewlett Packard printers and Lexmark, as far as I know. However, heat tends to corrode the printhead over time, which is why the printheads have to be attached to the ink cartridge itself; this way you replace your printhead with each ink cartridge.

    Epson printheads use tiny vibrations instead to let out the ink. This causes relatively less corrosion on the printhead compared to thermal printing, so the printhead can be permanently fixed onto the printer. However, once the printhead is busted, the whole printer will have to be replaced. This happens only after a lot of use, however.
