Thousands of Americans gathered outside the Capitol yesterday to protest Obamacare. It's a generally older crowd, many in their 50s and 60s, predominantly, white, and many self-identified as Christians. Why should we even bother to pay attention to them?

Agreed. Most probably have health plans through their employer, so the proposed health care reforms would not change anything for them. Others may be on Social Security, yet would complain about "govmint programs" and "socialism." Call me when they have something substantial and justified to complain about. Caterwauling about a series of reforms that are long overdue - and aren't even in place yet - just because Rush O'Reinnity says they should, is just a waste of my attention and time. Their religious affiliation is irrelevant, as is their race. +5 anti-troll points (ATP)

Someone I know pointed out how ironic it was that Americans were demonstrating in the streets for the right to get shafted.
