    Richard Childress, owner of Richard Childress Racing, was Dale Earnhardt's car owner in 2001. Childress was the car owner for six of the seven Winston Cup Championships Dale Earnhardt received. Earnhardt died on the last lap of the Daytona 500 on February 18, 2001.
