<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: It Has a Good Track Record
Acupuncture is capable of addressing some of the possible underlying causes of male infertility. These include hormone imbalances, which may in turn be caused by other conditions, such as obesity. Stress and other emotional disturbances can play a part, contributing to erectile dysfunction.
On the Other: It Can't Fix Everything
Certain causes of male infertility, such as a misplaced urinary opening or a missing vas deferens, simply can't be treated by any methodology except for surgery. It's unclear how much acupuncture can help, if at all, with other factors that contribute to infertility, such as psychological or relationship problems.
Bottom Line
Acupuncture is capable of addressing some, but not all, possible causes of male infertility. Multiple factors may contribute to infertility. Acupuncture may well be an important part of the healing process for some patients, whether it's used to address specific contributing factors or the condition as a whole.
